Hi, I'm Susie. Or you can call me The Plant Lady Librarian.

About Me

Hey there! My name is Susie, and I’m a native New Yorker, plant enthusiast, librarian, traveler, dabbler in the arts, and community builder. Over the years, I’ve noticed more and more people—from toddlers to older adults—becoming addicted to their smartphones. One of my goals is to combat this and bring people together face-to-face to actually start talking to each other.I’ve always had plants—some of which I accidentally killed, and others that flourished. During the pandemic, my interest in plants accelerated, and I eventually began hosting monthly plant swaps. People have brought everything from seed libraries and four-foot-tall snake plants to planters and more. We’ve even hosted educational workshops on topics like starting a community garden and making plant crafts. These days, I continue to work on plant swaps, yoga classes, zines, and other creative projects. The main thrust of my work is to bring people together through all things literary and green. To date, hundreds of people have attended my programs and connected by sharing plants, seeds, enthusiasm—and so much more.If you love all things green, libraries, the arts, and saying YES to life, come to one of my plant swaps, subscribe to my Substack, or follow me on Instagram!
